A $500 Music Scholarship was established to honour Jessica Bradshaw; a long time student at Tisho’s Music Academy. It is being offered by Jessica’s appreciative parents, Dana & Lynn Bradshaw, who proudly saw their daughter enter University in September 2009. They credit Tisho’s Music Academy for the excellent music education and training that Jessica received in the 5 years she attended the prestigious studio. In 2008 she won the top $500 music scholarship award.
Jessica Bradshaw studied drums, percussion and bass guitar under the watchful eye of music master and world class virtuoso, Tisho Balinov. “Tisho worked me HARD!!!” recalls Jessica. “I always thought he gave me more than I can handle, or more than I was capable of , so sometimes I cried out of frustration. But the reality was, Tisho always knew what I was capable of LONG before I realized it. I would not be the musician I am today without Tisho’s strong discipline, and for that, I will always be grateful.”
Tisho Balinov recalls Jessica as a talented hard working student with a personality and smile that captured everyone’s hearts. She quickly became very popular around the studio, and other students would always seek her out. “There was always something about Jessica that made everyone feel good.” recalls Mary Balinov. Her strong leadership abilities were a huge asset to her popular band, “The Katastrophe Kids.” She always had a positive attitude and words of encouragement to defuse any situation. We will miss her so much. It’s a sad fact that sooner or later, all kids move to their next level of education. We’re very proud of Jessica and feel honoured to have known her and her wonderful family. We wish her happiness for the future.
The Jessica Bradshaw Leadership Award, will be presented each year for the next 5 years to the student who best resembles Jessica’s personality, passion, discipline, and a genuine love and appreciation of people.
